How to Change Passcode on iPad

The iPad is a great device for staying connected, entertainment and for work. But for the most secure experience, you’ll want to enable a passcode to lock your device from others. Whether you’ve just got a new iPad or you’ve changed your mind about the security of your existing one, here’s how to change passcode on iPad.

1. Open the Settings App

The first step is to open the Settings app. This can be found on the home screen of your iPad and looks like a gear icon. Tap on it to open the app.

2. Select Touch ID & Passcode

Once you’ve opened the Settings app, you’ll see a list of options. Scroll down and select Touch ID & Passcode. This is where you’ll be able to customize your passcode settings.

3. Select Change Passcode

When you open the Touch ID & Passcode menu, you’ll see an option to Change Passcode. Tap on it to continue.

4. Enter Your Current Passcode

Before you can change your passcode, you’ll need to enter your current one. This is to verify that you are the owner of the device. Enter your current passcode and tap Next to continue.

5. Create a New Passcode

Once you’ve entered your current passcode, you’ll be prompted to create a new one. Enter your desired passcode and then re-enter it to confirm. Make sure to create a passcode that is secure and easy to remember.

6. Enter a Password Hint

You can also set up a password hint. This is a phrase or sentence that will help you remember your passcode if you ever forget it. Enter your hint and then tap Next to continue.

7. Enter Your New Passcode Again

You’ll then be asked to enter your new passcode one more time for verification. Enter your passcode and then tap Done to complete the process.

8. Use Your New Passcode

Once you’ve completed the process, you can start using your new passcode. Make sure to use it whenever you lock your device for the most secure experience.

9. Set Up Touch ID

If your iPad supports Touch ID, you can also set up this feature for an even more secure experience. To do this, simply follow the steps to set up Touch ID in the Settings app.
